November 13, 2007

The Principal
High School Department
Tomas del Rosario Academy
Batangas City

Sir/Madam:

We wrote you in the hope that you could help us solve a problem that affects one of our instructors.

Last November 7, 2007, Mrs. Liza Jamison, one of our English Instructors, received text message which read: “From General Msg: Mrs. Jamison, if you will stay in your teaching profession, say goodbye to your family. Sender 2371004582: Message Centre:  +6391754548 sent-7-Nov. 2007 18:42:58”, quote verbatim said message received.

This message was followed by another message from the same sender and message centre, which read, “From General Msg: We will going to kill you if you still stay in your school up the end of this month.”
In this regard, Mrs. Jamison checked with his computer the identity of the sender by searching the Chikka ID number used in the two messages. The profile of the sender retrieved from the Chikka Sender Information is hereto attached as Annex A for your reference.  Based on this profile, Mrs. Jamison further searched for the picture of the sender using the e-mail address in the Facebook.  The picture he retrieved is that of a lady in white and green uniform whom we presume a student from the high school department of your college.  The retrieved picture is hereto attached as Annex B for your ready reference.

In view of the foregoing, we would like to request for the real name, complete address and her parents’ name so that we can talk to them to air the side of the threatened instructor.

We hope you could help us solve this problem by giving the above information the soonest you can to the bearer, Mrs. Liza Jamizon.

Thank you for the kind and prompt dispatch.

Sincerely yours,

Jose del Gado

Request Letter – Attend Workshop Conference

September 22, 2011

Dr. Jose Delgado
School President
Pilar State University

Dear Dr. Delgado:

The Department of English and Applied Linguistics (DEAL) at De La Salle University will hold its 5th International Conference on Globalization and Localization in Computer-Assisted Language Learning (GloCALL) on October 27-29, 2011 at Dela Salle University Manila and Century Park Hotel Manila.  The three day workshop conference aims to share knowledge, research and experience on how to use computer technology to make language learning more effective and pleasant; to explore how the technology can be adapted to better meet the local needs of students and teachers, while at the same time providing global perspectives on computer-assisted language learning (CALL); and to bring the technology within the reach of local teachers who wish to develop their professionalism in CALL.

In this regard, I would like to express my interest to attend the said three-day workshop conference.  I understand that one of the objectives of the university is to provide an opportunity for us language teacher to be upgraded with issues and strategies related to global English.  Attached herewith is the CHED memo, flyer and invitation from DLSU.

Your usual concern and positive response regarding this matter is highly appreciated. Thank you and more power.

Respectfully yours,

Lemuel R. Fontillas
