General Secretary Position Application Letter

April 20, 1985

Ms. Mayette L. Castillo
Personnel Manager
Nissin Philippines
Cambuyao, Laguna

Dear Ms. Castillo:

Thru the Placement Program of East Asia College, I have learned that you are looking for a young person for the position of general secretary in your EDP department.  Please consider this letter my application for the position.

I am a graduate of East Asia College where I took two years secretarial course; I have a private secretary to Mr. Ryan Antonio, General Manager of the Philippine Gamble Incorporated, Pasig City.  My work with Mr. Antonio has been widely varied.  I can take dictation at 130 words a minute, transcribe my notes at 45 words per minute, and a type straight copy at 80 words per minute.  On my own responsibility I have handled much of the routine correspondence and have found this experience highly valuable in broadening my general business and secretarial ability.  I have become thoroly familiar with commercial and legal forms, including leases, deeds, mortgages, affidavits, releases, and vouchers.

I believe I have developed the ability to handle the position of secretary-correspondent.  My training and experience have been of the type necessary to the competent handling of the duties you require.  I enjoy this kind of work.  My reason for making a change is to improve my position.  Mr. Antonio tells me that I have now reached the maximum salary permitted by the Corporation and he fully understands and approves my wishes for further advancement.

May I have a personal interview?  If you wish to telephone me, my  number is 047-457-7814.

Sincerely yours,

Chinna Marie Navarro

Ms. Flordeliza Gopez
Personnel Manager
ABC Corporation
Balanga City, Bataan

Dear Ms. Gopez:

Your advertisement in the January 15 issue of the Manila Bulleting Classified Ads indicates that you need the service of man who is fast, accurate, and reliable in his bookkeeping work, but one who has also had abroad experiences and who enjoys responsibility.  Please consider this letter as an application for the position.

I am a graduate of Tomas del Rosario Academy with a degree in Accounting.

I have had four years of experience as an assistant bookkeeper at the Elizabeth Bakery and Supermarket.

At present, I am employed as a traveling auditor of the Orani Christian Bookstore to examine the books of its various branches in the Eastern Provinces.

I wish to change my job because I would like to secure a permanent position that will not necessitate my having to be away from home frequently, but one that will allow me to enjoy the company of my family and the comforts of my home in Bataan.

I feel confident of my ability to meet your requirements especially since I have had the kinds of experience that should enable me to render you satisfactory service. Should an interview be necessary, you can contact me at cell phone number 0906-245-1443.
